We had several interesting stops this past week worth mentioning. We moved a concert size grand piano for a five star restaurant at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore with a fantastic view of the water. Upstairs is the Orioles Cafe featuring intriguing vintage Orioles baseball memorabilia. This was a really cool hangout and fun place to experience.
Bob Hayes piano moving also got the opportunity to move a grand piano at Penn State’s main campus this week. The move was across campus and for a concert hosted by the college. We also have a member of the family who will be completing basic training in the United States marine corps. We have a new mascot here! Semper fi!
The piano moving season is now in full force. With the good weather upon us, we are running at full capacity and putting in long days on the road. We love this time of year! It is PERFECT!
Last week proved to be one of the busiest of the year with the local truck running an average of 13 stops per day and the long distance truck heading down south. Our local piano deliveries were a mix of the normal Maryland and Pennsylvania variety while the other truck set a destination for Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Busy is good because we love moving pianos!
This week has been more of the same, but our distance truck headed up north for a run to New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Boston, Massachusetts. There is always lots of traffic, and many tolls on this run, and of course, lots of happy customers! As always, a stop at the docks in Boston to buy fresh lobster right off the boat is something to look forward to. On the local truck, lots of stops moving pianos in and around Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as well as York, Harrisburg, Hershey, Philadelphia, and Hanover. We only spent two days in District of Columbia and Virginia this week, but they were VERY busy days.
We look forward to more of the same in the weeks ahead and will finish the month with another run south as far as South Carolina. Stay tuned!
We just completed our next run, moving pianos down South and left the Bob Haynes Piano Moving office in York PA with 12 pianos on board. The trip started out by picking up a baby grand piano on the Eastern Shore of Maryland to be delivered to Atlanta, Georgia. We then headed to College Park to pick up another piano headed for Tampa, Florida. One more pickup in Springfield, VA and we were on our way South!
Our first delivery was in Charlotte, NC which involved a vertical piano going up a flight of stairs. We then travelled to Atlanta to deliver the first piano we picked up from Maryland. Next stop was west coast of Florida to drop off the piano in Tampa and the over to St. Petersburg. Next up was Sarasota for the delivery of a concert grand.
I always enjoy the next leg of the journey, crossing alligator alley. Yes it’s a bit of a drive but seeing the edge of the Everglades and all the wildlife makes it quite enjoyable. We snapped a photo of an alligator and armadillo while traveling through to our next stop, the Florida Keys!! Wow it sure is a beautiful place to see. We picked up a baby grand (with a flight of stairs) downtown that got delivered to the outer banks. On our way up the coast we had stops in Miami, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, and then on up to South Carolina. After a grand piano delivery in Wilmington North Carolina, we ended our run in Raleigh with an antique upright grand piano that had been in the owner’s family for two generations.
Six days in all and a total of eighteen stops on this piano-movin’ run down South! Overall an enjoyable trip with every customer extremely happy with their deliveries. Looking forward to the next southern piano moving trip that will happen at the end of March into April. Let’s keep ‘em coming!
Last week found us doing local piano moves and last minute moves before the holiday season arrives. We started the week in Hanover to pick up ten pianos for Menchey Music Service, delivering them to Carlisle and Reading, PA. In between we made stops in York, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, Quarryville, and Fawn Grove. Our piano delivery to Reading was a Yamaha Avant Grand, which is a relatively new model with curves on both sides. It was quite an experience taking the grand piano up a split level! That was a tough one but the piano move was a success! We finished up on Saturday with a piano delivery in Rockville, MD.
This week found us traveling around the local area again but with more piano moves in Northern, VA and D.C. The highlight of the week was delivering a piano to the Baltimore Ravens training facility in Owings Mills for a pep rally in anticipation of their first game of the season! The Ravens staff were very friendly with the crew and even gave shirts and hats to each crew member! We picked up the piano on Friday just after the rally and got to see some of the festivities – which was VERY COOL! .Menchey Music provided the Yamaha piano for the Ravens rally. We are definitely looking forward to the next one!
Next week will find us on the Eastern shore for some piano moves and maybe even a little fishing along the way!
At Bob Haynes Piano Moving we had lots going on last week. We spent the week delivering 60 pianos to the Anne Arundel School District and moving 64 pianos to the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus!
The start of the week took us to Hanover, PA, Severna Park in Annapolis, Shady Side, Crofton, Fort Meade, Glen Burnie, Davidsonville, Seven, and Bowie, Maryland. We then delivering new Yamaha p22 upright pianos to all of the schools in the Anne Arundel County School District.
Our next order of business was to deliver 8 Yamaha baby grand pianos, as well as 16 Yamaha vertical pianos to the University of Maryland in Baltimore. The university just finished construction on a new performing arts building in which we were awarded the contract for moving the pianos to the facility. This week has us delivering and setting up 41 Yamaha clavinovas for a lab at the same university. This last piano move will bring our week to an end.
We are gearing up for our next run from south New York to Miami, Florida. Naturally this includes moving pianos to everywhere in between! So far we have approximately 15 stops scheduled and have just a few openings left.

Last week was extremely busy for the Bob Haynes Piano Moving Team! We averaged 14 stops per day, and moved pianos in every direction across the North East.
Monday we were on local piano moves and deliveries in and around York, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Hanover. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday found us in the Philadelphia area as well as venturing to Delaware and New Jersey. Friday and Saturday took us to Baltimore, Annapolis, Rockville, Silver Spring, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. On Saturday evening we set up a beautiful concert grand piano for a show in Arlington, Virginia. Our professional piano movers returned home on Sunday. Wow, what a week!
This week has been jam packed full of piano moves in preparation of the 4th of July weekend! Just like the week before, we have been averaging 13-14 stops per day. We started the week in normal fashion, moving pianos in and around the local area. Tuesday and Wednesday took us to Bel Air, Aberdeen, Baltimore, and the Annapolis area. Thursday was somewhat of a cleanup day with a crew heading north to Scranton, PA as well as moving a piano to Lancaster. They will be ending in the suburbs of Philadelphia, while the other crew ties up some loose ends in Maryland.
Bob Haynes Piano Moving is the best choice for moving your piano wherever it needs to go. The office will be open for business all weekend but the piano moving crews get the weekend off for some well-deserved rest.
We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing 4th of July weekend!
Bob Haynes Piano Moving just got back from our monthly run south from New York to Miami!
There were total of 19 stops throughout the trip. We worked our way down to Virginia where we picked up 2 Steinway concert grand pianos on loan to Nordstom’s Department Store. Next we picked up a grand piano from Knoxville, TN, followed by Atlanta, and eventually Clear View, FL where we picked up another Steinway concert grand headed for Canada. From there we headed over to Miami, across Alligator Alley for several deliveries (love that stretch of road along the Everglades).
After our stop in Miami, we went up the East Coast of Florida. We did several piano pickups and deliveries in Boca Raton, Vero Beach, and St. Augustine. Our next stop was in Savannah, home of the spooky looking moss covered trees and one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States! Next up, we hit the gorgeous coast of North Carolina into Wilmington, and New Bern. We then picked up two more pianos in NC before heading back home. The team at Bob Haynes Piano Moving is already looking forward to next Month’s run! Until then, we will keep busy with our daily route, moving pianos from Harrisburg, PA to Washington D.C.
